On September 18th, 1948 Eric and Theresa Gottfried were granted a $1500.00 loan from Banker’s Trust Company, which enabled them to enter the stone business. Beginning in the early years of door to door sales and weekly trips to Providence, Rhode Island where the major fashion jewelry manufacturers were located, Mr. Gottfried maintained a keen eye on the ever changing trends of the fashion world. By keeping a pulse on everything from the margarita craze in the seventies to the pendant craze in the eighties his business expanded. Mr. Gottfried was innovative, frequently joining forces with Swarovski’s product development department to create new designs such as an elongated drop bead and two popular colors, lilac and peach.

To this day the company remains in family hands. Over the years Eric Gottfried Inc. has developed a reputation for personalized individualized service, making it one of the nation’s largest authorized Swarovski dealers with a wide base of loyal customers in all fifty states.
